How to optimize the diagnostic wax-up and mock-up
What you will learn in this tutorial:
- Reading the body language for a better understanding of the dental identity and how to preserve it
- The importance of body language analysis for diagnostic dentistry
- Use of the key elements for treatment success: the analytical wax-up and diagnostic template
- Innovative patient approach to understanding the patient in the rehabilitation of complex cases
Our body speaks. Always – even when we are silent. Our body language, gestures and facial expressions betray us. Because often, we don’t say with our mouths what we are thinking or feeling.
What does this have to do with restorative dentistry?
The restoration of a smile will accompany a patient throughout his or her life. It shapes their appearance and contributes greatly to their personal identity. Understanding the patient is therefore essential for creating a smile that guarantees long term satisfaction.
Sometimes, be it because of a language barrier or just miscommunication, dentists and dental technicians struggle with understanding what the patient truly wants.
This is where our approach comes into play. We have found, that by taking a closer look at the body language of a patient and discovering their type, we can transfer this knowledge into the dental diagnostic wax-up and mock-up for the restorations. By doing so, we have found that we can determine the asymmetries of tooth alignment and position, that are unique for the individual patient. This is how we preserve the “dental identity” of every patient and create a unique smile that fits their character.
MDT Otto Prandtner describes to you in detail how the body language analysis works and presents some of the phenomenal results he has achieved by implementing this new method.
